O Almighty God, Who hast granted us to venerate in one, solemnity the merits of an Thy saints, we beseech Thee that, as our intercessors are multiplied, Thou wouldst bestow upon us the desired abundance of mercy. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Mystical Body of Christ

The Mystical Body of Christ is the Universal Church also known as The Catholic Church.

This would be Jesus as the mystical head and the Church members as the body. The Christian church is a spiritual extension of Christ’s body.

The Mystical Body of Christ includes the Church Militant, Church Suffering, the Church Triumphant, and even God’s Angels. Christ, along with all Members of His Mystical Body, Participate in each and every Sacrifice of the Mass.

For more on this I’ve found a lovely presentation on copali.org   http://copiosa.org/mystical/mystical_body.htm

In light of “The Year of Faith” I’ v decided to start Blogging about Catholicism. I will provide you with many Catholic resources, including but not limited to books, other blogs, videos and websites. I plan to blog on Catholic apologetic, defending the faith, as well as various social topics.

Lord, source of eternal life and truth, give to Your shepherd, the Pope, a spirit of courage and right judgement, a spirit of knowledge and love.

By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care may he, as successor to the apostle Peter and vicar of Christ, build Your church into a sacrament of unity, love, and peace for all the world.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
